WooCommerce Stores
Built to thrive inside your WordPress site.
If you need a shopping cart, WooCommerce is the right call: open, extendable, and it runs inside the site you already have. If you need to take a payment but don’t need a cart, it’s overkill, and we’ll tell you so. We build both.
Need a cart? WooCommerce. Need to take a payment? Maybe not.
Use WooCommerce for a store. Don’t use it for anything else.
WooCommerce gives you control to sell anything, anywhere, inside the WordPress site you already own. That flexibility is why we build on it and why we don’t build on hosted platforms. It’s also why it needs careful planning.
Openand extendable
It does what you need it to.
Open-source and adaptable: we can build anything a store needs inside it, from product bundles to club subscriptions, without renting the capability from a platform.
Freeto install, not to run
The plugin is free. The store isn’t.
A working store needs extensions, and the good ones cost money. Out of the box WooCommerce doesn’t do much. The tiers below exist to set that expectation before you buy.
Yourson your site
One site, one login, one host.
The store lives inside your WordPress site, on PXLPOD infrastructure, under management. Content, store, forms, and courses in one place.
What a store costs to build right.
Out of the box, WooCommerce doesn’t do a whole lot. These tiers show what it takes to make it do what you need.
Woo Core
The basic install, done properly.
Starting at
$1,299
A handful of products, maybe some with variations. The basics, set up right.
- Products, images, descriptions
- Taxes and shipping configured
- Outgoing emails customized
- Mailchimp and/or CRM connected
- Category and product page templates
Woo Essentials
Beyond the basics, where most stores live.
Starting at
$3,499
Most store requirements go past the basics. Multiple shipping options or countries, bundles, and the order-building usability your customers now expect.
- Everything in Woo Core
- Multiple shipping options and regions
- Product bundles
- Interactive order building
- Customer accounts and order history
Woo Professional
Where serious stores operate.
Starting at
$5,499
Any eCommerce system falls flat out of the box. Substantive stores extend WooCommerce with a stack of plugins and external platforms, each researched, configured, and tested. It comes down to labor hours.
- Everything in Woo Essentials
- Extended plugin stack and external platforms
- Subscriptions, memberships, or wholesale
- Advanced analytics (Metorik)
- Automation and CRM workflows
Every store runs on PXLPOD infrastructure.
A store is a revenue system, and revenue systems need a webmaster. Builds require Essentials Boost at minimum. Stores run best on WP Engine's eCommerce Performance Pack ($119/mo): NitroPack, EverCache for WooCommerce with Live Cart, Smart Search, Stripe Connect, and monitoring. SecurePod Care is strongly recommended after launch.
Three other ways to sell from your site.
Most “I need a store” conversations end somewhere else. These are the three places they usually end.
Payment capture forms
If you’re selling services, event admission, course tuition, or taking deposits on non-inventory items, a payment form is exactly what you need. Gravity Forms connects to your payment gateway and to Mailchimp, HubSpot, Salesforce, ConvertKit.
- Event registration + payment
- Pre-sale surveys and lead capture
- Retreat and workshop registration
- Contact forms wired to your CRM
Memberships & subscriptions
Repeat business is the point, and paid subscriptions are the cleanest way to get it. The membership systems available now didn’t exist a few years ago, and market demand is making them compete on features and stability.
- Recurring billing through Stripe
- Gated content and member areas
- Tiers, trials, and upgrades
- Wine clubs, programs, communities
Courses (LMS)
An ebook, a video course, or an eight-month premium program: you need an intuitive way to deliver it. Software that feels good gets used; LearnDash is our go-to, and we can stand up a premium-feeling course in hours.
- Free and paid modules
- Quizzes, certificates, drip schedules
- Sold through Woo or a payment form
- Members-only cohorts
Pick the line that sounds most like you.
Nothing ticked yet.
Be honest. There’s no wrong answer, just the wrong tool.
A payment capture form.
You don’t need a store. A Gravity Forms payment form takes the money, feeds your CRM, and skips the cart entirely.
- Payment gateway connected
- CRM and email integrations
- Scoped as a small project or a support block
A course platform (LMS).
What you sell is learned, so it needs lessons, progress, and a way to pay. LearnDash, sold through Woo or a payment form.
- LearnDash course build
- Quizzes, certificates, drip schedules
- Scoped as its own project
A membership system.
Recurring revenue and gated content. Built on WooCommerce subscriptions with a members area, or a dedicated membership platform where it fits better.
- Recurring billing through Stripe
- Gated content and member tiers
- Scoped as a Woo Professional project
A WooCommerce store.
You have a catalog, variations, and shipping. That’s a store, and WooCommerce is the right tool.
- Woo Core, Essentials, or Professional
- Runs on the eCommerce Performance Pack
- Managed after launch on SecurePod Care
WooCommerce is free, so the store is cheap.
The plugin is free. A working store needs paid extensions for shipping, tax, subscriptions, and the usability customers expect, plus the hours to configure and test them. That’s what the tiers price.
I need a store if I want to take payments online.
Only if people browse and buy more than one thing. A service, an event, a deposit, a course: that’s a payment form, and it’s a fraction of the cost.
Shopify would be easier.
Easier to start. Harder to make yours. A hosted platform rents you its capabilities and keeps your store separate from your site. WooCommerce lives inside the site you own and does what you need it to.
A store is done when it launches.
A store is a revenue system. Plugins update, gateways change, carts break quietly. Running one without a webmaster is a mistake we’ve cleaned up more than once.
Got questions?
A 15-minute call usually settles which of the four you need. These are the questions that come up first.
Which tier do I need?
Core if you have a handful of products and standard shipping. Essentials if you need multiple shipping options, bundles, or the order-building usability customers expect; most stores land here. Professional when the store needs an extended stack: subscriptions, wholesale, advanced analytics, automation.
Do you build on Shopify?
No. Every project is WordPress, and every store is WooCommerce. It keeps the store inside the site you own, on infrastructure we manage, and lets us build what the store actually needs rather than what a platform allows.
Can you move my Shopify, Etsy, or other store to WooCommerce?
Yes. Products, customers, and order history migrate; URLs get mapped and redirected so rankings carry across. It’s scoped like a platform migration, with the store tier on top.
What about payments, taxes, and shipping?
Stripe for payments (PayPal where needed), automated tax calculation, and live shipping rates configured per carrier and region. All part of the build, tested before launch.
Do I need the eCommerce Performance Pack?
Stores run best on it. It’s a WP Engine exclusive built for WooCommerce: NitroPack, EverCache with Live Cart, Smart Search, Stripe Connect, slow-query monitoring. $119/mo on top of an Essentials plan.
Who runs the store after launch?
You run the business; we run the store. Most stores move onto SecurePod Care so updates, monitoring, and improvements are handled monthly. We have several WooCommerce stores, LMS systems, and community sites under management today.
Selling from their own sites.
Let’s figure out what you’re actually selling.
A 15-minute call settles store, form, membership, or course. Then we scope it.
